Autumn Reminiscence
Brittle leaves rattle across the barren path.
Semester ends, I leave for boarding school.
My best friend gleams at my present, unbeknownst it’s been regifted.
Friends bid farewell, without a sight of her.
Buried in my future, I ignored the present.
Gazing out the cabin windows, realising her disappointment was our last shared moment.
I still wonder if she doth reminisce under the same sun.
My delayed apologies, one-way messages lost in the sands of time.

Sealed secret under the starry night
Sitting under the starry night,
she was looking at the stars as if she was one of them.
I opened my mouth and shut it again and again.
Eventually decided to seal the sentence deep down my heart.
Until now, it still pops up in dreams,
fantasising our life if I made a different choice.

To hold your hand
1 step 2 steps 3 steps 4
You held my hand through the door
Oh, how I’ve missed holding yours
Grown up things change
Love estranged
What was
Now not the same
5 steps 6 steps 7 steps 8
You walked me out the front gate
If I hold your hand tomorrow
Would it beokay?

Anxiety
5 a.m.
Exhausted, physically and mentally
Lemme fall asleep, I beg
Heart pounding, gasping for breath
100 unread messages; avoidance
Only hoping for his reply
Whirlwind of overthinking, wave of emotions
Floods of tears
Seemingly flushing the hormones away
Feeling better, I closed my eyes
‘Hold on tight, it’s gonna be a brand new day tomorrow’.

The Beginning of the End
Love has always been unfathomable to me.
The way it wraps the universe around its finger.
But as I steal a glance at you, everything seemed to make sense.
If hours feel like seconds when I’m with you, how would eternity feel?
Painfully short?
Only a fool would wish for immortality. What a shame it is that your presence has turned me into a
helpless fool.
