Sau Po Centre on Ageing, The University of Hong Kong

In 2019-20, MEHU participated as a collaborator in a cross-University Gerontology Infusion Education initiative.

As part of the “Campus Ageing Mix Project for University Students” MEHU and the Sau Po Centre on Ageing jointly developed a workshop titled “Diversity of Ageing” for MBBS students. Through photography and guided discussion with seniors of a diverse background in our local community, medical students and seniors engaged in intergenerational exchange on “what is ageing” and explore health-related challenges, expectations and concerns in relation to our human experience of ageing. After the pilot workshops, students have shown positive improvements in attitudes toward older adults, and professional interest in working with older patients.

“Geron-Infusion Education (GIE) is an initiative jointly developed and implemented by The University of Hong Kong under the “Campus Ageing Mix Project for University Students” (GIE- CAMPUS) and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University under the “Infusion Active Ageing Education” project (GIE- IAAE), and initiated and funded by ZeShan Foundation, from 2018 to 2020.”
