Abstract:
In human history, music has been playing a role in healing in different cultures as traditional wisdom. As our civilization flourishes, music has been evolving into different forms and genres across time and space. The therapeutic use of music has been revived across the Millennium from a scientific perspective. This talk would adopt an interdisciplinary lens to revisit the interplay of music, mankind and humanities as well as medicine, focusing on our everyday experience, clinical practice, medical education and self-care.

Prof Chan is a psychiatrist, academic and songwriter. He has been advocating an interdisciplinary lens to look at the emerging issues in humankind across the Millennium. His recent works focus on youth mental health, student wellness, digital mental health intervention, impact of digitalization to human mind, as well as culture and mental health.
