Medical Ethics & Humanities Unit x HKUMed Student Affairs
Over the past few days, Hong Kong has mourned the victims of Tai Po Inferno and come together to provide urgent support to those who lost loved ones and homes. We sincerely thank you for your willingness to serve as a volunteer at Good House, where the HKUMed team is offering medical assistance to residents staying in the shelter.
This is an unprecedented and devastating tragedy. As volunteers, we may face situations that are unfamiliar and emotionally challenging. While we focus on addressing the medical needs of residents, we must also remain mindful that many may be silently experiencing deep grief, uncertainties and a sense of helplessness.
To support you in this meaningful effort, we invite you to join an online evening gathering where you will explore mindful listening, being present for others, and practicing compassion in a practical way. Please find the webinar details as follows:
Date: 3 December 2025 (Wednesday)
Time: 9:00 – 10:00 pm
Format: Webinar
We have two enthusiastic speakers:

The reflections, practical skills and techniques that we learn together will not just bring care and comfort, but also prepare us future encounters with patients in need.
Let’s learn together and support one another.
