Medical Ethics & Humanities Unit and HKUMed Student Affairs Team will be hosting an online evening gathering where we will explore mindful self-compassion practices and use narratives—such as poetry and creative writing—to reflect, connect, and build resilience. Please find the details below:

Speakers/ Facilitators:
• Dr Adrian Wan
Lecturer, Centre on Behavioral Health, HKU
Dr Adrian Wan works at the Centre on Behavioral Health as an educator, researcher, and a compassion-based psychotherapist. He is Hong Kong’s first Certified Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher and Self-Compassion-informed Psychotherapist.
• Ms Melissa Tee
Clinical Pastoral Care Counsellor, Mt Alvernia Hospital
Ms Melissa Tee is a clinical pastoral counsellor who works at Mount Alvernia Hospital (Psychological Health Services) and Assisi Hospice. She is a registered counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling.
• Dr Jamie Zhou
Senior Consultant, Assisi Hospice
Senior Consultant, Division of Supportive and Palliative Care, National Cancer Centre, Singapore
Dr Jamie Zhou is a senior consultant working at National Cancer Centre Singapore and Assisi Hospice. She is currently studying Narrative Medicine at Columbia University.
The self-compassion practices and narrative skills we learn together will not only deepen our self-care but also prepare us for future encounters with patients in need. Let’s learn together and support one another.
