Abstract:
Mindfulness practice has been well proven to relax the mind and body, particularly by easing tension, pain, and other stress symptoms. While some people find it very helpful in providing an immediate sense of relief, those new to the practice may find it hard to quiet their minds and struggle to persist in their practice.
The therapeutic soundscape of harp music creates a healing atmosphere that eases pain, anxiety, and sleep disturbances, and promotes well-being and peace. A therapeutic harp music practitioner uses the inherent healing elements of live music and sound to enhance the environment, making it more conducive to recalibrating the mind-body balance for recipients. Throughout the music vigil, the practitioner observes participants’ breathing patterns and other immediate physical, mental, and emotional cues, adjusting the music accordingly. No two presentations are ever the same.
In this mindfulness and therapeutic harp music session, these two elements will be integrated, making it more accessible to experience the healing power of complementary modalities and refresh both body and mind during the busy examination season.
